Coronavirus Update – Further Closures and Impact

Many businesses in China continue closures following the extended Lunar New Year Holidays in order to try and prevent the further spread of Coronavirus (2019-nCoV).

Factories, offices and other parties expect to return by the start of March; however, this is dependent on the situation in China.

Following the slow down of traffic coming out of China we have been advised of a strain being placed on the vessels out of India to replace some of the traffic normally shipped from the Far East at this time of year.

Space is now limited out of India and we urge all clients who are looking to move goods from India to advise us urgently so space can be secured in advance.

Transhipment Ports remain inundated with containers as the backlog has not abated due to the continued implementation of blank sailings by carriers out of the Far East.

During this difficult time for China we continue to remain respectful of the unavoidable constraints laid upon our partners and other businesses so that they and their families remain healthy and well.

We will continue to monitor the situation and ensure our clients are kept up to date.
