National Day Golden Week

Chinese National Day is celebrated on October 1st every year to honour the founding of People’s Republic of China. On that day, many activities are held nationwide.

The 7-day holiday from October 1st to 7th is called ‘Golden Week’, during which a large number of Chinese citizens go traveling or have family time as many factories shut down over this period

These festivities could result in vessel omissions and restricted space in the run up to Golden Week.

Golden Week traditionally marks the start of a rush for bookings in the run up to Christmas period as companies look to ensure stock is received ahead of this time and shipped prior to the Chinese New Year closures in January 2020

We strongly advise notifying us of orders that require delivery before Christmas 2019 as soon as possible to ensure bookings are secured on the earliest available vessels.

This holiday can also spark a hike in rates ahead of the increased demand for space aboard vessels sailing from the Far East over the next few months
