UK ENTRY UPDATE — ETA REQUIRED FROM 25th FEB 2026

What Hauliers Need to Know

✔ From 25th February 2026, drivers who do not need a UK visa MUST have an ETA before travel (EU/EEA/Swiss drivers included).

✔ No ETA = No Boarding. Ferry operators, Eurotunnel & airlines must refuse travel if a driver has no ETA.

✔ This applies to HGV and commercial drivers entering for freight movements.

✔ Cost: £16.00, valid 2 years (or until passport expires).

✔ Most approved in minutes - but allow 3 working days.

✔ Apply via the UK ETA smartphone app or GOV.UK.

Why This Matters

Missing an ETA will result in:

❌ Driver turned away at port/terminal

❌ Missed sailing slots

❌ Delivery delays or contract failures

❌ Vehicles held before departure from EU side
