Severe Disruption At Felixstowe Port

Severe industry wide congestion at the Port of Felixstowe is now impacting vessel operations, as well as landside movements by rail and truck on and off the terminal. As a result the logistics industry is experiencing:

  1. Longer times to discharge containers from vessels.
  2. Extended turnaround times on the quay for trucks.
  3. Import containers booked connections to rail.
  4. Reduced haulage availability.

Whilst these factors are beyond our control, the Neptune team are doing our utmost to mitigate these delays. We regret that we will not be able to completely alleviate the effects, and performance on deliveries and collections will be impacted. We encourage customers to book as early as possible to help the situation.

Other UK Ports are currently working as normal, but we do anticipate that vessels could be diverted to alternative ports whilst these issues remain at Felixstowe which could result in a ripple effect across the country.

If your shipment requires clearance upon arrival in the UK, please also ensure you are sending commercial documents and other relevant documentation well in advance to ensure the containers clear in time to meet delivery schedules.

We will ensure you are kept up to date on the progress of your orders and how they will be effected by the situation at the ports
