Storm Ciara – Strong Winds Forecast

Storm Ciara is due to arrive in the UK over the weekend, bringing extremely high winds that are forecast to gust up to 80 MPH in coastal locations.

Weather warnings for strong winds have been issued by the Met Office to cover the entirety of the UK on Sunday.

In addition to this, warnings for wind and snow are in place for the northern areas of the UK for Monday and Tuesday of next week.

This will impact on all ports in the UK as crane and port operations will cease once windspeeds reach 45 mph.

With these conditions forecast into next week there is a risk of ports closing as a result of this weather.

These closures may have an impact on deliveries and container restitution. Should your shipments be affected in any way we will update you as soon as possible.

The weathers warnings will be amended by the Met Office over the next few days, so we encourage all clients to monitor this situation.
