Storm Jorge

Storm Jorge, a low-pressure system named by the Spanish Meteorological Service (Agencia Estatal de Meteorología), is due to arrive in the UK on Friday 28.02.2020.

This storm is due to bring another weekend of strong winds and heavy rain with the Met Office issuing Yellow Weather Warnings for Saturday and Sunday of this week that cover the majority of the UK.

There are smaller warnings in place for Friday across Northern Ireland, Wales, the South West and North West of England.

Ireland will also experience adverse weather conditions with weather warnings being issued by the Irish Meteorological Service (Met Éireann).

High winds are forecast across the whole UK which could result in the ports ceasing operations if windspeeds exceed 45 mph.

Port Closures may have an impact on deliveries, vessels discharging cargo and container restitution. Should your shipments be affected in any way we will update you as soon as possible.

The weather warnings will be amended by the Met Office over the next few days, so we encourage all clients to monitor this situation.
