National Cholesterol Month 2026: Cholesterol Matters. Every Swap Counts
October marks National Cholesterol Month, an annual awareness campaign led by HEART UK to help people understand cholesterol and take positive steps towards better heart health.
This year's theme, "Cholesterol Matters. Every Swap Counts.", focuses on the power of small, achievable lifestyle changes. From healthier food choices to increasing physical activity, simple changes made consistently can contribute to healthier cholesterol levels and improved cardiovascular wellbeing.
One of the campaign's key initiatives is "Swap the Scroll for a Stroll", encouraging people to spend less time on their devices and more time walking throughout October. Whether it's a lunchtime walk, walking the dog, taking the scenic route home, or enjoying time outdoors with friends and family, every step can help support a healthier heart.
