Stress Awareness Month

April marks Stress Awareness Month, an opportunity to raise awareness of the impact stress can have on both mental and physical wellbeing, particularly within fast paced and high pressure industries.

In shipping, logistics, and associated support services, managing complex regulations, tight deadlines, and operational challenges is part of everyday work. While this can be rewarding, it can also bring added pressure. Recognising stress early and creating a supportive working environment plays a vital role in maintaining focus, resilience, and overall wellbeing.

We are committed to supporting our team’s mental health. We have trained Mental Health First Aiders within the business who offer confidential support, a listening ear, and guidance for anyone who may be experiencing stress or mental health challenges. Their role is to help reduce stigma, encourage open conversations, and ensure support is accessible when it’s needed.

Our office environment also plays an important part in supporting wellbeing. Located in the countryside and surrounded by open fields, we are fortunate to have space to step away from desks, take a walk, or simply sit outdoors during breaks. Time spent outside, whether walking, sitting in the fresh air, or disconnecting briefly from screen, can help reduce stress, improve concentration, and support overall mental wellbeing.

Stress Awareness Month is a reminder that small, everyday actions can make a meaningful difference. Encouraging breaks, supporting work–life balance, and checking in with colleagues all help foster a healthier and more resilient workplace.

By prioritising wellbeing alongside operational excellence, we aim to create a working environment where people feel supported, valued, and able to perform at their best, not just in April, but throughout the year.
