Liverpool Port Strike Update

Current industrial action at the Port of Liverpool is due to end on 03.10.2022, however further strike action at the port is now being planned by the union from 06:00am on 11.10.2022 until 06:00am on 17.10.2022.

The port is likely to remove all Vehicle Booking Slots (VBS) whilst the strikes persist, which would result in hauliers having no direct access to collect containers from the port.

Whilst any charges that may be incurred due to the strike action will remain for the account of the importer, provisions are being put in place by the port to mitigate additional daily charges for any containers on quay which arrived at the Port of Liverpool on or after 30.08.22, by freezing any daily costs that would apply between 19.09.2022 and 03.10.2022.

Neptune is continuing to liaise with carriers to work on contingencies and to understand their strategies.

The situation is still developing and we will ensure you are kept up to date on any impact these strikes may have to your shipments, along with the advance notice of possible delays and costs.
