Red Sea Disruption

Red Sea Disruption

We regret to inform you about the disruption caused by recent security incidents affecting both naval and commercial vessels in the Red Sea. In response to these attacks on commercial vessels, several carriers have temporarily paused or re-routed operations through the Red Sea, both east and westbound, until further notice.

For safety reasons, many carriers have rerouted vessels via the Cape of Good Hope instead of the Suez Canal. Due to the additional mileage, this will undoubtedly result in extended transit times beyond our advertised quotes. We anticipate that the increased fuel consumption could lead to significant increases in freight and bunker levels. There is also the possibility of carriers implementing war risk and piracy surcharges as services are adjusted around the surrounding areas.

Given the expected severe impact on vessel schedules, equipment imbalances are anticipated in the affected areas. We assure you that Neptune are working closely with our carriers, and our top priority remains minimizing the impact on your business while maintaining effective communication.

We will keep you fully updated as the situation develops. If you have any further queries, please contact your Neptune operator directly.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
